About our school...

There has been a school in Pebmarsh since the late 18th century, but the nucleus of the present building was open in 1967 to serve the three villages of Pebmarsh, Alphamstone and Lamarsh. The school takes its position as a church school seriously and prides itself on the family ethos and links with the local community.

We believe that the children are the most important part of any school and we support and encourage their involvement in the development of the school through a ‘Whole School Council’. Here children can discuss issues affecting the running of the school, organise events and develop an understanding that they are able to make a difference in their own lives and those of others: with citizenship comes ‘rights’ but also ‘responsibilities’.

The school plays a vital part in the life of its community, both locally and in the wider world. The church is a crucial partner in this and we maintain strong and valued links both with our own parish Rector and the Rector of our neighbouring parish. We hold services in the church throughout the school year and our local Rector visits on alternate weeks and we also welcome 'Open the Book' to our school every other week to bring to life another story from the Bible with their dramatic role play and extra parts for the involvement of our children.
